It contains a compilation of the rules of procedure adopted, respectively, by the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Human Rights Committee, the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, the Committee against Torture, and the Committee on the Rights of the Child.

The Human Rights Committee examines an average of 15 reports per year, CAT examines 13, CERD, 20, CEDAW, 15 and Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC), 25.

The European Court of Human Rights, the Committee against Torture and the Inter American Commission on Human Rights have not followed this approach.

The rules of procedure of the Human Rights Committee, the Committee against Torture and the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination foresee such a possibility.

The RCTS is composed of a Council and an Executive Committee.

They highlighted the challenge of streamlining the reporting process without neglecting the specificities of each treaty.

Where there is a large committee, it is common to have smaller committees with more specialized functions for example, Boards of Directors of large corporations typically have an (ongoing) audit committee, finance committee, compensation committee, etc.

The question nonetheless remains regarding the continuing role of the Parties, the Secretariat and Implementation Committee vis à vis Article 9.

For that reason, Mexico had called on the General Assembly and the Commission on Human Rights to adopt resolutions along those lines.

However, the Ceasefire Political Committee and the Assessment and Evaluation Commission still have to be set up.

Three human rights treaty bodies the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and the Committee on the Rights of the Child have adopted general comments on their relationship with national human rights institutions.

He would focus on the mandate as it had evolved over the years through the various resolutions of the General Assembly and the Commission on Human Rights.

I shall now make some remarks on the work of the three committees. As subsidiary bodies of the Security Council, the 1267 Committee, the Counter Terrorism Committee and the 1540 Committee play a unique and important role in the global fight against terrorism.

1.7 This subsection covers the General Assembly, the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions, the Committee on Contributions, the United Nations Board of Auditors, UNJSPF (United Nations share) and the Committee for Programme and Coordination.

The Chief Executive Officer also serves as Secretary of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Board, its Standing Committee, the Committee of Actuaries and the United Nations Staff Pension Committee, and is responsible for the organization and servicing of those bodies, as well as the required documentation.

2.8 Responsibility for this subprogramme is vested in the Security Council Affairs Division, which will provide advice and substantive services to the Security Council and its subsidiary organs, particularly the sanctions committees and the Counter Terrorism Committee, informal working groups and the Military Staff Committee.
