A Task Force comprising representatives of entities of the United Nations system and non governmental organizations, including regional networks, serves as the main conduit for information exchange and for channelling information, comments and suggestions to the Secretariat.

They also use techniques such as precision use and timing of fertilizer applications to meet crop needs, use of advanced control release fertilizers and systems delivering fertilizers to plant roots through leaves.
