As in recent years, a contingency provision has been made in the proposed budget to cover the cost of such services in the event the General Assembly does not maintain its past practice.

Furthermore, the reductions under common staff costs reflect both the realized vacancy rates described above and the lower than budgeted actual rate of common staff costs ( 5,526,400).

All three message centres will be staffed by the Secretariat to ensure the smooth movement of messages into and out of the General Assembly Hall and restricted areas.

During the same time period, three training seminars were organized to sensitize the police staff, and the telephone numbers of the Consultation Centres of the General Secretariat for Gender Equality were given to all Police Stations of the country.

The higher requirement under common staff costs is attributable to service and family allowances being charged to common staff costs but budgeted under international staff salaries, combined with a higher percentage of international staff holding 100 series appointments.

At the same time, the overall construction cost was 19.5 million less than the original design.25

Thus, this programme component impacts not only urban agro industries, but has a strong outreach to poor and marginalized rural population groups.

In paragraph 54 of its report, the Board recommended that the Fund further request the United Nations Secretariat to liquidate its cost sharing obligations, and seek a new procedure to account for cost sharing arrangements.
