Mr. Qazi introduced the Secretary General's latest quarterly report, updated the Council on recent developments in the political process and the activities of the United Nations in Iraq.

I wish to acknowledge the considerable assistance we have received from the United Nations on many fronts and, in particular, to commend the energetic efforts of Ambassador Ashraf Qazi, the Special Representative of the Secretary General.
