Trisomy 9 is a chromosomal disorder caused by having three copies (trisomy) of chromosome number 9.

These are normally found only at the ends of a chromosome, but in chromosome 2 there are additional telomere sequences in the middle.

Genomics The gene is located on the short arm of chromosome X (Xp21.1).

The samples were dispatched for DNA testing.
