(a) In accordance with the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China and after consultation with the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), the application of the Convention to the Hong Kong SAR requires prior enactment of domestic legislation by the Hong Kong SAR.

The Committee welcomes the constructive dialogue with the delegation of the State party, which included representatives of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR).

Article 4 Special measures to promote gender equality

The Committee was mandated to decide on and oversee administrative measures that may be required in cases of continuing failure to comply with oversight recommendations. The IGO no longer acts as secretariat of the Oversight Committee however the Inspector General continues to attends meetings on an ex officio basis.

Formal and informal contacts between the Special Committee and the administering Powers must be continued.

The Macao Special Administrative Region has also sent a rescue team to the disaster hit area.
