In paragraph 315 of its report, the Board encouraged UNDP to follow up on all trust funds in deficit positions with a view to recovering the expenditures in excess of the funds received.

The number of requests sent or received varied from a few up to several hundred, such as in the case of Finland, which made 378 requests and received 299 requests.

The Board of Trustees adopted its revised cost plan for 2006 on the basis of the increase in new applications for grants and the increase in new contributions received in 2004 and 2005.

7. Requests the Secretary General to take into account the above mentioned work in the preparation of documentation and other preparatory activities for the review of the implementation of Agenda 21, to be carried out in 2002.

The SBI noted with appreciation the high quality of these documents, which help in the review of the implementation of the Convention by Annex I Parties and in sharing experiences among Parties.

This is a country review rather than merely a review of Government performance.

A regional analysis of the responses from those countries reporting in both the second and third periods shows a significant increase in the proportion of countries in the Americas and Asia (see figure IV).
