A stake was driven through his heart and his body was burned.

Whensoever they sensed Our punishment they fled from them .

And when they tasted Our punishment , they immediately started fleeing from it .

Then , when they perceived Our might , behold , they ran headlong out of it .

Then when they perceived Our violence , lo ! they were from it fleeing .

Then , when they perceived ( saw ) Our Torment ( coming ) , behold , they ( tried to ) flee from it .

Then , when they sensed Our might , they started running away from it .

Then , when they perceived Our chastisement they took to their heels and fled .

And , when they felt Our might , behold them fleeing from it !

So when they sighted Our punishment , behold , they ran away from it .

And when they felt Our Might they fled from it .

And when its inhabitants perceived Our punishment , at once they fled from it .

When they found Our torment approaching them they started to run away from the town .

So when they felt Our punishment , lo ! they began to fly

When they felt Our punishment coming upon them , they began to flee from it .

Yet , when they felt Our Punishment ( coming ) , behold , they ( tried to ) flee from it .

We have to bring a scourge from the heavens on the people of this city as they are depraved .

We will indeed cause a punishment from the sky to descend upon the inhabitants of this town the recompense of their disobedience .

We shall send down upon the people of this city wrath out of heaven for their ungodliness . '

Verily we are about to bring down upon the inhabitants of this city a scourge from the heaven , for they have been transgressing .

Verily , we are about to bring down on the people of this town a great torment from the sky , because they have been rebellious ( against Allah 's Command ) .

We will bring down upon the people of this town a scourge from heaven , because of their wickedness .

We shall bring down upon the people of this city a scourge from the heaven because of their evildoing .

Lo ! We are about to bring down upon the folk of this township a fury from the sky because they are evil livers .

We are indeed going to bring down upon the people of this town a punishment from the sky because of the transgressions they used to commit .

We shall send down anger out of heaven upon the people of this city because they are debauchers .

Indeed , we will bring down on the people of this city punishment from the sky because they have been defiantly disobedient .

We will bring torment from the sky on this town because of the evil deeds of its inhabitants .

Surely We will cause to come down upon the people of this town a punishment from heaven , because they transgressed .

We are surely going to bring down a punishment from heaven on the people of this town because of their depravities .

For we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven , because they have been wickedly rebellious .

At the height of the assault, some villagers, men and women, came out in the open in a state of frenzy and hysteria.

They rejoined We feel you augur ill . If you do not desist , we shall stone you to death , and inflict a grievous punishment on you .

They ( the people of the city ) said , We think you are ominous indeed , if you do not desist , we shall surely stone you to death , and you will surely face a grievous torture at our hands .

They said , ' We augur ill of you . If you give not over , we will stone you and there shall visit you from us a painful chastisement . '

They said verily we augur ill of you if ye desist not , we shall surely stone you , and there will befall you from us a torment afflictive .

They ( people ) said For us , we see an evil omen from you , if you cease not , we will surely stone you , and a painful torment will touch you from us .

They said , We see an evil omen in you if you do not give up , we will stone you , and a painful punishment from us will befall you .

The people of the town said We believe you are an evil omen for us . If you do not desist , we will stone you or you will receive a grievous chastisement from us .

( The people of the city ) said We augur ill of you . If ye desist not , we shall surely stone you , and grievous torture will befall you at our hands .

They said , Indeed we take you for a bad omen . If you do not desist we will stone you , and surely a painful punishment will visit you from us .

They answered ' We predict evil of you . If you do not desist , we will stone you and a painful punishment from us will befall you '

They said , Indeed , we consider you a bad omen . If you do not desist , we will surely stone you , and there will surely touch you , from us , a painful punishment .

The people said , We have ill omens about you . If you will not desist , we shall stone you and make you suffer a painful torment .

They said Surely we augur evil from you if you do not desist , we will certainly stone you , and there shall certainly afflict you a painful chastisement from us .
